Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored 100 times in Uefa competitions Cristiano Ronaldo ended a seven-month Champions League goal drought as holders Real Madrid came from behind to beat 10-man Bayern Munich in the first leg of their quarter-final in Munich. Ronaldo, the Champions League's record goalscorer, scored twice in the second half to end an 11-hour wait for a goal and put the 11-times winners in charge. Arturo Vidal had headed Bayern ahead but then wasted a chance to double their lead when he blasted a penalty over the crossbar. And Ronaldo then twice clinically converted from crosses either side of Javi Martinez's red card to move to 97 Champions League goals. Bayern were kept in the game after going down to 10 men by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who saved brilliantly from Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Ronaldo. But the Germany international will feel he should have done better for Ronaldo's winner as the Portuguese stabbed a shot through...

Blizzard is killing me these days, releasing a new Hearthstone expansion last week and now a new Overwatch holiday this week. But I will do my duty and shell out on day one (hour one) for 100 new loot boxes so you can see what you might get, and how often you might get it.
This is Overwatch’s first holiday event that is…not tied to an actual holiday. Previously, Blizzard said that they would not be doing St. Patrick’s Day/Easter events, and instead, this “Overwatch: Uprising” event is an entirely original creation, one that flashes back to glory days of Overwatch when the team was still together and hadn’t been cast to the wind like we’ve seen in present day, before Winston recalled them.
An introductory comic gave us hints about what skins we might see for this event, which includes a lot of original Overwatch/Blackwatch uniforms, and set up the Uprising itself, an Omnics-run-wild event that looks to be PvE content that was just released in today’s update.
I will get to that in a bit, but first, it’s time to crack open some boxes. I swear I spent more time skin-collecting in Overwatch than I do playing these days, but I can’t help it, these skins are just that damn good, every time.
Alright, here goes:
(some time passes)

Overwatch: Uprising
Sprays – 24
Voice Lines – 28
Icons – 28
Victory Poses – 12
Emotes – 8
Highlight Intros – 6
Epic Skins – 1, 1x Reinhardt
Uprising Legendary Skins – 7, 1x Mercy, 1x, McCree, 1x Torb, 2x Alt Torb, 2x Orissa
Old Legendary Skins – 7
Gold from duplicates – 6,800
Alright, so, not a bad haul, despite the fact that I missed out the two skins I had to have, Talon Widowmaker and Blackwatch Genji, but I got enough gold to buy them outright at the end. All in all I got 14 legendary skins (no gold piles) out of 100 boxes, which is a pretty damn good ratio, as the average is usually around one in ten. And the event is weighted so half of those were new skins, and I only had two duplicates. Not bad, and a hell of a lot better than my recent Hearthstone luck.

I do think the distinction between epic and legendary skins is a bit weird this time around. Some are pretty clear-cut, but I was surprised that Reinhardt’s OG skin was epic, but Tracer and Mercy’s were legendary. Or Orissa’s purple get-up was legendary, but Bastion’s was epic. I suppose the skins go beyond recolors despite the similar themes, but it caught me off guard at first.
All of these numbers seem to be distributed somewhat like past events, though I noticed I got a lot more emotes and all three new highlight intros this time naturally, when I got only one of each in Year of the Rooster. Thank god, because D.Va’s is a must-buy.
Overwatch is pretty good about letting you shell out $80 for boxes that will get you practically everything in the set short of a few items, or having you grind out 100 crates during the event, which is also possible if you’re an avid player. From what I can see, I have no complaints, and once again this seems like another great OW event, at least in terms of the rewards being offered here.
I’m about to head into the Uprising game mode itself to check that out, but for now, I’m off to buy the remaining skins I missed, and marvel at my collection like I’m hoarding a bunch of action figures or something.
Let me know what you got in the comments or on Twitter.
Update: I managed to finish this box opening literally the moment servers crashed from everyone figuring out this event was live, so I'm pretty proud of that. But now I want to play Uprising so let's get this fixed soon please.
